Upsetting the established order of things takes time, effort, and consistency in those attempts at putting yourself into a place where you’re not expected to be, but for West Ham United and manager David Moyes, the Hammers look set to keep pushing to regularly included in the top six discussions in the Premier League.
The capital club can partially thank their recruitment strategy in the last few seasons in conjunction with Moyes re-establishing his managerial credibility in England, with the Scottish headmaster looking set to be gifted a bit of a transfer coup as West Ham is nearing a completed deal for 23-year-old Italian international center-forward Gianluca Scamacca.
Per reports from transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, the US Sassuolo headline striker has completed his medical with West Ham ahead of a £30m move to the London Stadium, with another £5m in bonuses included.

For the last two seasons, West Ham has sat just outside the top echelon of the Premier League, finishing 6th and 7th respectively but can largely link to their burnout in the later stages of the season due to a lack of depth in quality across multiple areas of the senior squad.
This certainly rang true when it came to the center-forward channel as Moyes has just Jamaican international Michail Antonio remain his only reliable number 9 despite others deputizing in his absence when he was unavailable for selection.
With Scamacca set to arrive in England and thus giving West Ham a highly-rated target man to build their attack around, the Hammers have also seen fit to make a push for Eintracht Frankfurt’s Serbian star Filip Kostić this summer as well, with the 29-year-old fresh off his key role in last season’s Europa League win that saw Die Adler dispatch Scottish giants Glasgow Rangers 5-4 on penalties.
Kostić has regularly been one of the most creative wingers on the continent after registering 63-assists in 170-matches across all competitions, while also adding 33-goals to his name during his four years in the German economic capital.
According to Romano, once all aspects of the deal for Scamacca are complete, West Ham will turn its focus to Kostić in a move that should set the club back somewhere in the region of £15m.
Should both moves be completed without issue, Moyes will be able to call upon to highly-effective attacking options added to a list that already includes the aforementioned Antonio as well as club star Jarrod Bowen, Manuel Lanzini, Saïd Benrahma, Pablo Fornals, and Nikola Vlasic, offering enough depth in the forward positions for the Hammers to hopefully once again fight for a top four place.
